Terms and Conditions.

Terms and Conditions.

Last updated: [12/12/2025]

These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Sofia Calzavara, trading as Squeeze (“I”, “me”, “my”). By accessing my website, making an enquiry, or booking any service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the website or book services.

1. About My Services

I provide independent midwifery-led services including antenatal care, postnatal care, hypnobirthing education, breastfeeding and infant-feeding support, and one-off consultations.

I do not provide intrapartum care. Any birth doula support offered through Squeeze is provided by a separate practitioner under their own terms and conditions.

My services are designed to run alongside NHS maternity care, not replace it.

2. Scope of Practice

I am a Registered Midwife and practise within the scope defined by the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC).

I:

  • Provide evidence-based antenatal and postnatal care

  • Offer education, preparation, reassurance, and practical support

  • Carry out basic midwifery assessments appropriate to community practice

  • Support informed decision-making

  • Refer to NHS or specialist services when care falls outside my scope

I do not:

  • Replace NHS maternity services

  • Prescribe medication

  • Diagnose medical conditions

  • Provide emergency care

  • Provide psychological therapy

Full details are outlined in my Scope of Practice page.

3. Continuity & Nature of Care

While continuity of care is central to my philosophy, I recognise that not all clients will choose or require ongoing care. Some families may book one-off or occasional appointments only.

I will always be clear about:

  • What each appointment includes

  • Whether ongoing care is recommended

  • When NHS or specialist input is needed

4. Booking & Payment

Hourly Appointments

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking

  • Appointments are confirmed once payment is received

Packages

  • Packages may be paid in instalments, as agreed in writing

  • Instalments must be paid on time to continue care

  • Missed payments may result in suspension of services

All prices are clearly displayed on the website or confirmed before booking.

5. Cancellation & Rescheduling

I understand that plans change, especially during pregnancy and early parenthood.

  • 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling

  • Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable

  • If I am unable to attend due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered:

    • A rescheduled appointment, or

    • A full refund

Late arrivals may result in a shortened appointment, without fee reduction.

6. Refunds

I do not offer refunds except where:

  • I am unable to provide the agreed service

  • A service is cancelled by me

Unused package appointments are non-refundable but may be transferable at my discretion.

7. Confidentiality & Safeguarding

Your care and information are treated as confidential.

Information will only be shared:

  • With your explicit consent

  • Where there is a safeguarding concern

  • Where I am legally required to do so

This aligns with NMC standards and safeguarding legislation.

8. Website Use & Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, branding, and downloadable materials — is the intellectual property of Squeeze, unless otherwise stated.

10. Complaints

I aim to provide high-quality, compassionate care. If you are unhappy with any aspect of your experience, I encourage you to raise this directly with me in the first instance.

If a concern cannot be resolved informally, you may submit a written complaint. This will be acknowledged promptly and handled fairly, transparently, and in line with NMC guidance.

11. Professional Registration & Insurance

  • Registered Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)
    NMC PIN: [19A0438E]

  • Member of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM)

  • Professional indemnity insurance held via the Royal College of Nursing (RCN)

12. Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on the website. Continued use of the site or services indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
