I am an NHS and private midwife, passionate about providing you the care that you need to support you through your pregnancy and the early postnatal period.

I provide personalised antenatal and postnatal support to help you feel informed, supported and confident, through pregnancy, going into labour and the first weeks at home with your baby.

Continuity of care - being supported by the same midwife over time - is a model proven to improve experiences and outcomes. It allows me to really get to know you, your preferences, and your circumstances and to tailor care accordingly.

More about Sofia.

I work both as a private midwife and an NHS midwife in London. For the past decade, my professional life has been dedicated to working across a wide range of maternity settings, supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the early postnatal period.

I achieved a first class honours in Midwifery from City St George's, London, in 2019, and was awarded student midwife of the year. My training took place in London, where I worked in all areas of midwifery including labour ward, birth centre, homebirths, postnatal ward and community. I specialised in community midwifery, running my own clinic and providing postnatal home visits. This is where I saw the true value of continuity of care - having time to build relationships, understand families' needs and provide support within people's communities.

After returning from maternity leave, I felt inspired to build a service that works alongside NHS maternity care, offering the additional time, continuity and personalised support that can sometimes be difficult to access in routine appointments. I am particularly passionate about helping families feel well supported beyond the immediate clinical care, whether that is through clear signposting to other trusted professionals or by helping partners and grandparents feel confident and involved.

I am particularly inspired by models of care that prioritise prevention rather than cure. This led me to complete a Master’s in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, where I explored how care systems, early support, and strong relationships shape long-term wellbeing. I bring this perspective into my midwifery practice, offering care that is thoughtful, proactive and family-centred.

Let’s see if we’re a match!

Some nice words.

"Having been told from early in my pregnancy that my baby was on the larger side there was guidance that I should be induced early to avoid potential complications. I was uncertain about this advice and concerned to get the baby out as early as doctors suggested.

Through birth planning with Sofia we discussed the different avenues that I could take, including the various types of induction, the pros and cons as well as other elements to consider when it comes to induction including potential for C-section. Together we laid out a plan which was right for me and one which allowed me to feel prepared and informed enough to feel self-assured going into the hospital.

Sofia’s experience and knowledge paired with her commitment to understanding my feelings and preferences was invaluable and helped me navigate my first pregnancy and birth with confidence."

Belle, Antenatal and Postnatal consultations, 2026

"I found my virtual antenatal appointments with Sofia so helpful. I live in Spain and although I speak the language, the vocabulary and nuances related to pregnancy and birth were new to me - even in English! Having Sofia available virtually as a calm, reassuring and highly knowledgeable midwife gave me the confidence I needed to navigate my pregnancy and early postpartum days. She coached me through colostrum harvesting, addressed my concerns about discharge, and shared resources and practical tips that proved invaluable during my unexpected natural birth.

I would recommend Sofia as a midwife to anyone, regardless of location. That said, I can’t help but feel a little jealous of the pregnant women of London who get to experience her warmth and expertise in person!"

Jess, Virtual consultations, 2025

"Sofia was absolutely instrumental in making my first birth a natural one. The techniques I learnt in our session meant that I stayed calm and confident throughout what turned out to be an extraordinarily long labour. They also really helped my husband to feel involved and useful as he could bring me back to the breathing and meditations we had learnt together. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough!"

Sophie, Hypnobirthing course, 2026

"Having initially planned for a caesarean birth for the birth of my second child, I felt unprepared when I went into active labour. Sofia gave me the confidence to progress with the VBAC I wanted, knowing about my pain relief options and at what point in labour they would be available. Sofia's personal touch, coupled with her professionalism and invaluable knowledge, put my partner and I at ease during such an emotionally and physically challenging situation. The system can feel daunting and it made all the difference having someone dedicated to fighting your corner and holding you up in your most vulnerable moments. Postnatally, Sofia offered me a safe space to debrief on my physical and mental healing, validating my concerns and reassuring me throughout."
